Carnegie is using the same formula for this round of evaluations. We should perform well in this year's analysis given our significant gains. Fingers crossed!
Jennifer Cowley

We did receive a THECB Reskilling grant which is providing $ for students we get to reenroll who have senior standing to help finish their degree.
G9 James M. Martin
27:16
the THECB Reskilling grant is great news!
Jennifer Cowley
27:58
Agreed James - we are able to help about 20 students this spring and look forward to helping approx. 200 students return to school and finish their degree.
G8 Jennifer Lane, Chair
29:18
@James, sure is!
G8 Jennifer Lane, Chair

All but my youngest students 18-22 have been vaccinated and even one in that group who is immune compromised has received her first vaccine.
Jennifer Cowley
31:09
Please remind your colleagues to sign up for the wait list if they qualify. The 1B category includes a wider range of conditions that it did initially - including being overweight (BMI of 25+). Denton County is now in the 200,000+ on the wait list and moving quickly. Our goal is to get as many faculty and staff members vaccinated this spring.
Jennifer Cowley
35:46
Staff and faculty positions with resignations of March 1 or later can begin being filled. Faculty positions tied to resignations after March 1 may begin being filled with temporary Visiting or NTT faculty.
Jennifer Cowley
36:27
I have permission to release up to 40% of frozen positions. I am currently reviewing college priorities and guidance will be provided to the colleges on the 17th - and information should roll out from there.

a portion of the 2% raise money can be used for equity, and we have made some adjustments already in a few critical areas that were far under market, the market study we did covered staff, not faculty, so the provost will be working on faculty equity issues.
G4: Biglaiser, Glen
50:45
Given the affordability of books issue, if buying directly from publishers is less than purchasing books from Barnes and Noble, what should we tell our students?
Manjula Salimath
55:22
Thank you Provost Cowley. My email is Manjula.salimath@unt.edu
Jennifer Cowley
55:59
Glen - we have a contract with B&N and per that contract we are not permitted to directly tell students to purchase books from other sources.
